Long course triathlon has been dominated by Jan Frodeno and Daniela Ryf in recent years. So much so that most of their competition have admitted that they don't even think they can beat them! Does this mean that Jan and Dani have beaten their competitors before the race has even begun? Who or what will it take for someone to stand up to their dominance and not be afraid? Who if anyone can beat them? To discuss this we are joined by Macca to get his insights into the who, what and why of this question. In recent years it has been complete German domination at long course racing and a big part of the success of Germany is multiple World Champion, Sebastian Kienle. This week we are extremely lucky to be joined by 2014 Ironman World Champion Sebastian Kienle. Sebi is one of the biggest names in the sport and part of the fabric of long distance racing. This week we discuss the impact of 2020, the emergence of the PTO, Lionel Sanders and how at 36 his desire to improve and become a better athlete is stronger than ever. No one is more dialled in to the changing dynamic of the triathlon world than the Kona winner and uber-biker who is now looking for a new edge to take to the competition. What a weekend of triathlon with Iron Man, 70.3, XTERRA and even a little ITU World Championship all happening. We round up the all the racing that happened over the weekend including all of the action from the ITU World Championship. We also look at the PTO supported Helvellyn Triathlon. All of the racing action, coverage and lack thereof raises the question whether Iron Man is critical to the future success of triathlon? Would Kona still be as iconic if it wasn't called an Iron Man?
