Talking Triathlon

Lucy Charles-Barclay stormed onto the triathlon scene in 2017 with her second place in Kona and has become one of the biggest names in the sport.

This week we are excited to chat with Lucy about her career, from being told she would never come close to Daniela Ryf, to three second place finishes in Kona, Lucy has raised the bar in women's racing.

We look at her early days in the sport and the struggles she has overcome, how she plans to win Kona and what motivates her to be better.

We also discuss Lionel Sanders breaking the Canadian One Hour Record, swim, bike, running around the world and news that Canyon is for sale.

Lots to unpack this week with the news that Daniela Ryf has done a 'Lionel' and is out injured, endurance sports tv is crowdfunding and the PTO is supporting even more races.

We also saw a number of races happen around the world with some of the biggest names in the sport lining up in Cairns for the Asia-Pacific Championship. We round-up all the professional racing then turn our eye to the age group race.

199 age group finishers competed for 75 Kona slots in Cairns and the internet has done what the internet does. This makes us ask the question? Is this the end of Kona? What do we mean? We mean, does this change people's opinions of racing Kona? Is it about getting the strongest field possible to line up or as many athletes on the pier as possible?
