As we approach the end of the year we look back with American triathlete, Taylor Spivey.

Taylor is one of the most consistent performers in short course triathlon and is bouncing back after a late season injury to secure her spot for the Paris Olympics after being left off the team in 2021.

We discuss the pathway to the Olympics, challenges short-course athletes are facing and why and why she is looking forward to racing longer distance races after Paris. Taylor talk a lot about the mental burden of being a professional triathlete and gives her thoughts on how things can be improved.

Max Stapley is back and has been promoted from guest to co-host this week as James couldn't make it.

We discuss the news that Kristian Blummenfelt thinks it will take a sub 29 minute 10km to win in Paris and why Max thinks that still probably wont be enough for Kristian to win. How hard short course triathlon is and why we are seeing more and more short course athletes step up in distance successfully.

We also preview India Wells 70.3 where Max thinks the Norwegian short course athletes might teach Sam Long a lesson.

Basically, with Max on the show you know it is going to be good!

With so many athletes lining up in Flordia this weekend does it show an intention to secure an early Kona slot then race the PTO series next year?

Has the Ironman Pro Series announcement changed the plans for many pro athletes? Are we seeing the top professionals being spread too thin and does it impact your excitement for 2024 professional racing?

We discuss this and much more on this week's episode as well as expanding on some of the points made by Max Stapley on last week's podcast.

A huge episode this week as we needed to discuss that post that Sam Laidlow put up about a possible ITA investigation into him. We unpack all of what has been said publicly to try and make what is a confusing situation as easy as possible to understand.

Don't worry, we keep the hottest takes for the patreon bonus episode!

We are also joined by Kate Waugh and Max Stapley. 2 incredibly talented young triathletes from the UK. Kate is the 2023 Super League Triathlon champion and we discuss the state of short course racing, doping in triathlon and why they are jealous of middle and long distance athletes.

This week we are talking triathlon with American professional triathlete, Skye Moench.

Our chat moves through the PTO Milwauke race, the challenges professional female triathletes face and the differences between men and women.

We discuss specialising at a distance versus being versatile across many, the women's only Kona race and whether splitting the men and women was a good idea and why female professionals are maybe less likely to call out their competition.

A wonderful and insightful conversation that gives you a real insight into how Skye sees the current state of the sport.

One of the most exciting races we have seen in a long time. We discuss the brilliance of Taylor Knibb, the breakthrough performance of Lucy Byram and the consistency of Ashleigh Gentle.

We give our thoughts on the broadcast. The things we liked and some minor points for improvement.

We then turn our attention to the men's race where we saw Jan Frodeno give on of the best performances of his career to beat almost all of the 'next generation. We look at the incredible performance of Kristian Blummenfelt and what Jan's victory means when writing the history of triathlon.

This will mean that Alistair Brownlee will not be lininig up in Nice in September and might indicate that he is injured again.

We discuss this as well as all the action from WTCS Hamburg, whether we will see Gustav Iden race Nice, the problems being faced by British Triathlon like Georgia Taylor-Brown tearing her calf, no WTCS event there in 2024 and the PTO US Open (and much much more!)

We discuss the news that Andrew Messick has stepped down as the head of IronMan. We look at the pros and cons from his tenure and then discuss what we would like to see IronMan do after he is replaced.

We discuss the news that the Collins Cup isn't happening, start lists for The PTO US Tour (typically they announced wild cards almost immediately after we recorded) and preview WTCS Hamburg this weekend.

We then turn our attention to Challenge Roth from a few weeks back where we are joined by Chrissie Wellington (via Get out in It) to hear what it meant to see her world record beaten by Daniela Ryf and why she is one of, if not, the greatest female triathlete of all time.

It's finally here! The race we have all wanted to see since the Norwegians stormed the world of long course racing! Jan Frodeno v Kristian Blummenfelt and the scary part is that is only the tip of the iceberg! We preview all the action from Ibiza this weekend at the PTO European Tour race. We give our picks (which might surprise you) and talk about how we think these races will unfold.

We also discuss even more developments since Collin Chartier admitted to using EPO. Including Lionel Sanders call for 20% of PTO prize purses to be spent on out of competition testing and why we think Sam Laidlaw might of made a slight error with announcing his withdrawl from the PTO race.

Well we didn't want to cover more of the Collin Chartier story but with so many athletes coming out and giving their thoughts we decided to recap all the developments in the doping scandal. Don't worry though, if you are sick of hearing about it and want to focus on only the amazing performances from last weekend we've got you as we save it for the end and clearly state where it begins.

We DO cover the incredible performances from IronMan Texas with Kat Matthews and Rudy von Berg, Challenge Gran Canaria with Anne Haug and Sam Laidlaw and discuss the reason why we won't see Gustav Iden in Ibiza next weekend.

With the news breaking today that Collin Chartier has tested positive for EPO we thought it was important to jump on and give our thoughts so that we can focus on all of the amazing performances from the last week on this week's regular episode.

This is a raw, unplanned conversation where things get a bit heated.

We're back to discuss all the upcoming action including IronMan Texas, Challenge Gran Canaria and the full PTO European Tour start lists.

We also discuss the recent news that the PTO is doubling down on the 100km race with no plans to go longer. While we think that a lot of the changes are incredibly positive we asked Joe Skipper to join us to give his take as a true long distance athlete (and let us know how he is feeling ahead of IM Texas)

Did you see Anne Haug's run split in Lanzarote? Did you know that she ran almost the exact same run split last year? Shocking! But what isn't shocking is the early season signs for a number of big name athletes (and some relative new comers).

We discuss Lanzarote 70.3 and Challenge Puerto Varas then we preview all the racing this weekend including Gwen Jorgensen, Hayden WIlde and Tyler Mislawchuk in action in NZ and Cassandre Beaugrand and Jonny Brownlee in action in Portugal.

We then unpack an article from Tim Hemming that asks whether the triathlon season is too full?
