Talking Triathlon

After an amazing performance in Bahrain, we are extremely lucky to sit down for a race debrief with Kristian Blummenfelt. Find out how his day unfolded, what going faster than any human has ever gone before felt like and what the future looks like for this triathlon superstar.

We discuss his 2020 season and what his goals are for the Olympics, 70.3 Worlds, and Super League Triathlon.

This is an incredible insight into Kristian's race and how it unfolded.

This week we discuss what the hell 'Black Friday' is and why we are being inundated with ads for massage guns as well as the 'new' 70.3 to hit Australia and the way the return to Kona slots is impacting late year Iron Man fields in a good way.

We talk about recent performances at Ironman Arizona, Ironman Cozumel (we do some research into how long that swim course actually was) and Western Sydney 70.3 where James makes the huge mistake of calling some Kiwi women Australian...

Running is probably the easiest and most painful of the three disciplines of triathlon. It is something that regardless of your age, background or sporting history you have experience with.

This week we talk all about running with two-time Kona winner Chris McCormack. We discuss how he has always approached running, the sessions he likes and basic things we can all do to un faster.

After far too long we are back to talk all about the recent happenings in endurance sports with some potentially unpopular opinions about some of the worst performances we saw in Kona. We discuss the masterclass that is Jan Frodeno as well as the abrupt end to Super League for 2019.

We discuss the news that Lange has parted ways with his coach, Cam Wurf is aiming for Tokyo and the news that Sanders has a new (old) coach (even though we thought he already had one.)

Some incredibly impressive results recently but the standout has to be Cam Wurf's incredible performance at Ironman Italy. 3 weeks out from Kona, Wurf has shown he can run and is taking a very different approach to most other athletes leading into Kona. We discuss the Ironman Wales result as well as all the action expected in Jersey this weekend with Super League kicking off.

Much like age group athletes, swimming was something that Macca struggled with throughout his career.

This week Macca talks all about swimming and passes on his knowledge so that all triathletes, regardless of their level can benefit. Chris talks about the differences in technique between swimmers and triathletes and what triathletes should focus on as well as what you should spend your time in the water doing to improve. In December 2018, The 70.3 World Record was crushed by the young Norwegian athlete, Kristian Blummenfelt. Blummenfelt, who is better known for success at short course racing with some dominating performances at Super League managed a 21:36 swim, 1:56 bike and 1:06 run to crush the previous record with a 3:29:04!

This week we are extremely lucky to be joined by Kristian as he talks us through how that race unfolded, the preparation for the event and most importantly, how much faster he thinks he can go.

We discuss his plans for the future including Olympic success, Iron Man domination and not only breaking the 70.3 World Record but the Iron Man World Record as well.

Kristian also talks about the lessons that age group athletes can take from him to improve their performance as well.

This is an incredibly open and insightful conversation where you will gain a true insight into what it takes to go fast or as Kristian puts it, 'make your competitors look bad!'

One of the biggest benefits of being part of MX Endurance is access to our team of experts. Sarah Alexander is one of our racing experts. Sarah uses her experience as a racing professional triathlete to help our members maximise their performance.

So to help everyone get to know Sarah a little better, James Bale sat down and discussed her progression through the sport. Sarah does not have a background in triathlon competing as both a figure-skater and rower before making the shift to triathlon.

Sarah talks about the challenges she has faced coming to triathlon later in life, what racing ITU and Super League was like and the differences now she focuses on 70.3.
