This week we go through the start lists of T100 Singapore, Oceanside 70.3 and Challenge Roth and discuss the names that pop up a lot and the athletes that are missing.

Is this the first real time we are seeing the packed 2024 season causing scheduling issues for the pros? Why are T100 athletes still not racing T100 events? We also look at the changes to start lists for WTCS events and discuss if the T100 should have larger fields (they shouldn't)

In the wake of the T100 announcement, Alistair Brownlee has suggested that a smaller field size could make World Triathlon events more exciting.

This week we discuss the implications of limiting the World Triathlon Championship Series start list to 20. What this would mean for the racing, how World Triathlon could fix the broadcast and make following the sport easier and hopefully more exciting.

We also discuss if the age of the bike/runner is over in long distance triathlon and why so many T100 athletes keep talking about IronMan!

We discuss the rumours we have heard about PTO contracts and who might be trying to do both the PTO and IM series. We discuss the Olympics and why we think we already know who will win the men's race while women's is much harder to pick. But this makes us ask, could Taylor Knibb potentially win the Olympics, Ironman World Championship and 70.3 World Championship all in 2024?

This week we are talking triathlon with American professional triathlete, Skye Moench.

Our chat moves through the PTO Milwauke race, the challenges professional female triathletes face and the differences between men and women.

We discuss specialising at a distance versus being versatile across many, the women's only Kona race and whether splitting the men and women was a good idea and why female professionals are maybe less likely to call out their competition.

A wonderful and insightful conversation that gives you a real insight into how Skye sees the current state of the sport.

No surprised here but this week we talk all about the PTO US Open.

One of the most exciting races we have seen in a long time. We discuss the brilliance of Taylor Knibb, the breakthrough performance of Lucy Byram and the consistency of Ashleigh Gentle.

We give our thoughts on the broadcast. The things we liked and some minor points for improvement.

We then turn our attention to the men's race where we saw Jan Frodeno give on of the best performances of his career to beat almost all of the 'next generation. We look at the incredible performance of Kristian Blummenfelt and what Jan's victory means when writing the history of triathlon.

Basically we talk about why Jan Frodeno IS the greatest of all time!

This week Scottish professional triathlete David McNamee joins us to talk all about triathlon! We discuss athletes not supporting PTO events, challenges trying to work with federations as well as the way the sport is changing and how it can be improved. David explains why he thinks Kona is more than a world championship and why it is the race that motivated him to be his best.

We also look towards the PTO US Open this weekend where David is sure to win the thing!

This is an incredibly open and candid conversation with a 2-time Kona podium finisher. You will not want to miss the insightful perspective he has on the state of the sport.

Last week we saw IronMan Lake Placid won by Joe Skipper (smashing the course record in the process) but we didn't see Alistair Brownlee race at what was the final chance to qualify for Nice. This will mean that Alistair Brownlee will not be lininig up in Nice in September and might indicate that he is injured again.

We discuss this as well as all the action from WTCS Hamburg, whether we will see Gustav Iden race Nice, the problems being faced by British Triathlon like Georgia Taylor-Brown tearing her calf, no WTCS event there in 2024 and the PTO US Open (and much much more!)

We discuss the differences between Roth in 2022 and 2023, his plans between now and Nice and what he thinks of his chances on the Nice course and how it will suit a strong cylist like himself.

We then take a look at how we think he will go in Nice this year and talk about his significant improvements over the next 12 months.

We're back with plenty to talk about this week.

We discuss the news that Andrew Messick has stepped down as the head of IronMan. We look at the pros and cons from his tenure and then discuss what we would like to see IronMan do after he is replaced.

We discuss the news that the Collins Cup isn't happening, start lists for The PTO US Tour (typically they announced wild cards almost immediately after we recorded) and preview WTCS Hamburg this weekend.

We then turn our attention to Challenge Roth from a few weeks back where we are joined by Chrissie Wellington (via Get out in It) to hear what it meant to see her world record beaten by Daniela Ryf and why she is one of, if not, the greatest female triathlete of all time.

Welcome to the new version of our old show where we get together every week to talk about triathlon!

This podcast is all about making it easier for triathletes to follow the professional side of the sport by highlighting the things we think are most interesting every single week.

To kick things off we are joined by the world number 1 ranked triathlete, who has won an Olympic gold medal, an Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championship as well as a WTCS World Championship, Kristian Blummenfelt. We catch up about how the year has gone, the current state of the sport and what he thinks of both his and Gustav Iden's chances are for the Paris Olympic gold medal.

Plenty of news this week as well as catching up with one of our favourite professional triathletes, Ellie Salthouse!

We talk to Ellie about her rough 2022, the pressures of being a pro triathlete and what we can expect from her in 2023. An extremely candid conversation that covers a whole range of topics. Not one to miss!

An actual insane amount of triathlon has happened in the last week with almost too many races to cover.

We discuss Sam Laidlaw struggling in Lanzarote and what that might mean for the rest of his season. We do the results round up with a particular focus on the performances of Emma Pallant-Browne, Tamara Jewett, Paula Findlay, Lucy Charles-Barclay and India Lee.

We then preview WTCS Cagliari where we will see Alex Yee back to race Hayden Wilde and Kristian Blummenfelt.

This week we discuss the incredible performances from Max Neuwmann and Anne Haug, Jan Frodeno making his return to racing, just how close was Alistair Brownlee from hanging onto for that win, did Magnus Ditlev decide the race, how was Lucy Charles-Barclay looking early in the season and much more.

We also discuss Sam Long's win in St George and Lionel Sanders being slightly off form. IronMan Australia coming down to the wire and what happened to Joe Skipper at World Triathlon Long Distance World Champs.

It's finally here! The race we have all wanted to see since the Norwegians stormed the world of long course racing! Jan Frodeno v Kristian Blummenfelt and the scary part is that is only the tip of the iceberg! We preview all the action from Ibiza this weekend at the PTO European Tour race. We give our picks (which might surprise you) and talk about how we think these races will unfold.

We also discuss even more developments since Collin Chartier admitted to using EPO. Including Lionel Sanders call for 20% of PTO prize purses to be spent on out of competition testing and why we think Sam Laidlaw might of made a slight error with announcing his withdrawl from the PTO race.

Well we didn't want to cover more of the Collin Chartier story but with so many athletes coming out and giving their thoughts we decided to recap all the developments in the doping scandal. Don't worry though, if you are sick of hearing about it and want to focus on only the amazing performances from last weekend we've got you as we save it for the end and clearly state where it begins.

We DO cover the incredible performances from IronMan Texas with Kat Matthews and Rudy von Berg, Challenge Gran Canaria with Anne Haug and Sam Laidlaw and discuss the reason why we won't see Gustav Iden in Ibiza next weekend.

While the Kona buzz is still alive we thought we would wheel out two-time winner, Chris McCormack to chat about how the Kona race has changed since the first time it was raced.

Chris talks us through all of the changes we have seen including the move to the big island, removal of the lead u-haul van, changes to technology, gear the course and even race tactics.

Chris gives his thoughts on some of the rule changes that he thinks have made the race worse and why we are seeing times get better and better.

He also gives his thoughts on some of the key performances from this year's race and why he think Gustav Iden would be so hard to beat in Kona.

With the women's race happening before we record our next episode we thought the time was right to preview the biggest race of the year.

We are less than a week away from the 2022 Ironman World Championships in Kona and the first time in the history of the race that the men and women will compete on different days.

We go through who to watch, how we think the races will unfold and give our picks (even if some of us still aren't happy with our picks) as well.

We also preview Super League Triathlon in Toulouse, the terrible news that Kat Matthews was hit by a car and some confirmed races for the World Triathlon Championship Series in 2023.

We also talk about the news that Flora Duffy has been given a wildcard to the 70.3 World Championships, IronMan decorating their race clothes with a penis and Cam Wurf racing Super League Malibu.

With Kona less than a month away people are starting to turn their attention to who they think is going to win and Mark Allen has gone out on a limb and predicted wins for Daniela Ryf and Kristian Blummenfelt.

We joke, but is there anyone capable of beating them on the big island? Ryf has a proven record there and Kristian has taken the 'rules' of triathlon and torn them to pieces.

We also unpack all of the action from Super League London, discuss a bizarre DNF in Mexico and once again 'discuss' what the PTO is up to at the moment.

As is becoming quite the pattern, when we start to doubt an athlete they make a triumphant return and prove us wrong!

That was certainly the case over the weekend in Swansea where Alistair Brownlee put together an amazing performance to comfortably win. That is just one of the races we recap this weekend as well as the new transgender athlete policy from World Triathlon, the return of Lucy Charles-Barclay and whether racing categories like cycling could work for triathlon.

Considering a big part of our audience probably doesn't know (or care) what the Commonwealth Games are, we are going to pretend like we don't spend a lot of time talking about the Commonwealth Games this week.

If we did talk about the Commonwealth Games though we would probably discuss all the drama from the men's race and the absolute domination of Flora Duffy in the women's race.

We do talk a lot about the announced captains' picks for the European and US Collins Cup teams and the controversy around the absence of Emma Pallant-Browne!

Last week, minutes after we finished recording, the PTO released the points from Challenge Roth (last week we interviewed the winner) which saw Magnus Ditlev receive the most points of any male performance in history.

The PTO called this the greatest ever performance!

So this week, we discuss this in detail. Was it the best ever performance? Or is that something that cannot be decided based purely on numbers and algorithms?

We also discuss the news that Jonny Brownlee will miss the Commonwealth Games, lots of baby news in the world of pro triathlon and some serious domination from Flora Duffy, Hayden Wilde and Danila Ryf over the weekend!

What better way to recap all the action from Challenge Roth than speak with the winner of the men's race, Magnus Ditlev!

Magnus talks us through his race, how it unfolded and what this result means for the rest of his year and goals moving forward.

We also discuss recent changes made by British Triathlon for transgender athletes, what Frodo pulling out of Roth means for Kona later this year and much much more!

It is one of the biggest races in the world and this year we will see two of the greatest long course athletes go head-to-head in Roth with Jan Frodeno coming up against Patrick Lange. They won't have it easy though with young guns, Sam Long and Magnus Ditlev there to cause an upset!

We discuss all the action from WTCS Montreal, IronMan Frankfurt, Elsinore 70.3, Mont Tremblant 70.3 and IronMan Nice and why IronMan should give Flora Duffy a wild card entry to 70.3 Worlds this year.

The PTO have promised us that their tour races will see the best of the best race each other and it looks like they might be coming good on their promise as the first names are announced for their PTO Tour event in Canada. Will we see more Norwegian domination or will a local favourite take the win?

We also look at the ridiculous amount of races this weekend and wonder whether it would be better to have one pro race this weekend that everyone races at rather than many races with some good names at each?

WTCS racing is back and we saw some seriously action packed racing over the weekend with Team GB dominating both the men's and women's races.

We discuss some more news to come out of St George including reports that Andreas Dreitz was taken out by an on course motorbike, Alistair Brownlee's reaction to sitting the race out and the pacer reveals for Sub7Sub8 next month.

We then also look at the news that Gustav Iden is racing The Challenge Championship, a race we had forgotten was even on which makes us ask, does anyone really care about The Championship?

So who will walk away with the crown? This week we look at who we think are the top contenders in St George. Will Lionel Sanders be able to out run the Norwegians? Will Laura Phillip be unbeatable? Will someone surprise us all?

A few weeks ago, triathlon legend, Mark Allen predicted that the men could go 6:33 for the Pho3nix Sub 7 attempt.

This week, Mark Allen is back and he think Lucy Charles-Barclay could go close to breaking 7:30 for the Sub8! We look at his break down for how it can be done. We also discuss Lucy's potential team of pacers after last week's interview.

We discuss a potential Zwift acquisition of Trainer Road, more developments in triathlon doping and the fact that Ironman is selling World Championship slots!
